it is exactly 5,926.4 miles between here and Cool. but whether it's a place on the map or a state of mind, some way, some how, we are all somewhere in-between. i offer this as some sort of proof that Cool exists, is worth seeing, hearing, reading, (laughing at), and certainly archiving.
my name is diane, and this is a true story. i am a writer, photographer, runner, doctoral student, university professor, and mother from the great state of texas. just a few months ago, betweenhereandcool hit the road and traveled the blue highways between Cool, Texas and Cool, California and Cool, Iowa, documenting bits and pieces of the American Dream all along the way. this is what i saw, and then some.
